Adam C. Ness
Attorney Ness is a seasoned lawyer who is comfortable preparing a Will at a client's kitchen table as well as presenting arguments in front of the South Carolina Supreme Court.
Having lived and worked in the small Lowcountry town of Bamberg, SC, his entire life, he understands the importance of trust and the value of a person's word.
The foothills of S.C. have always called. After completing his undergraduate education at Furman University with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, he continued his education by earning his Juris Doctor at the Charleston School of Law.
After working with legal teams to help recover over $80 million for clients, Attorney Ness is taking the experience and knowledge he has cultivated to assist the people of the Upstate by setting up shop in the Gramling area.
In addition to being a practicing attorney, Adam spends much of his time in nature or under the hood of a classic car.
Adam and his family are excited to officially relocate to the area they have loved for more than a decade. Adam's wife, Christina, and their three sons have spent most of their weekends enjoying the Blue Ridge Mountains and are looking forward to finally calling them "home."
Adam Ness is an attorney who will give you not only his word but also his time. He believes strongly in his clients understanding the legal process so they are confident and know their concerns are recognized and addressed.
At Ness Legal, LLC, there is an awareness that people often need legal counsel during their most difficult times. This responsibility is not taken lightly. A call to Ness Legal is always the right call.
Three Generations of Lawyers
Attorney Adam Ness is the son of Richard B. Ness and grandson of Julius B Ness.
Richard retired from the practice of law in 2022, after having trained Adam during his first 8 years of practice. Richard served as Bamberg County Attorney for more than a decade, a member and Chairman of the SC Bar’s Character and Fitness Committee for approx. 2 decades, SC Highway Commissioner, and many other roles. He served as a Special Referee (sitting as a Judge) in many hundreds of cases in Bamberg County during his 40-year career. Retired Judge Jack Early, with whom Richard was partner for more than 20 years, said about him, “In the 20 years we practiced together, we never needed a contract. Our handshake agreement was all we ever needed.”
Julius B (“Bubba“) Ness died in 1991, having had one of the most distinguished legal careers of any lawyer or in SC history, ultimately being appointed to the SC Supreme Court as Chief Justice. He had served as an Associate Justice, a Circuit Court Judge, State Senator, and Highway Commissioner. He retired from his position as Chief Justice at the mandatory age of 72, in 1988. Even today, gone for almost than 35 years, lawyers speak of him fondly and with a level of respect few others enjoy.
